The Finance Department headed by Director of Finance, is responsible for managing public funds efficiently and ensuring financial sustainability. The finance department ensures proper financial management, accountability, and the efficient delivery of services to the community. Its key responsibilities include;

  1. Budgeting and Financial Planning: Preparing and managing budgets, forecasting future financial needs.
  2. Revenue Collection: Overseeing tax collection and fees for local services.
  3. Financial Reporting: Preparing financial statements and ensuring transparency.
  4. Expenditure Management: Monitoring spending and controlling costs.
  5. Compliance: Ensuring adherence to financial regulations and managing grants.
  6. Cash Flow and Debt Management: Managing cash flow and overseeing debt obligations.
  7. Advisory Support: Providing financial advice to other departments.
  8. Investment and Asset Management: Overseeing investments and managing assets.
  9. Capital Projects: Managing finances for large infrastructure projects including CDF projects
