HANDOVER CEREMONY OF CDF MACHINERY AND NAMUBBILA BRIDGE

Pemba Town Council on Monday 11th November, 2024 handed over Constituency Development Fund-procured machinery and Namubbila Bridge in Dobo Ward.
The event was officiated by the Honourable Member of Parliament for Pemba Constituency, Mr. Lameck Hamwaata.
The new machinery included a tractor-loader-backhoe supplied by SDLG Investment Limited at a cost of K2,000,000 (exclusive of VAT), as well as a tipper truck procured from Delta Auto at a total cost of K2,200,000 (inclusive of VAT), both funded through the 2024 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocation.
Another landmark unveiled was the Namubbila Bridge, constructed by World Link Three (3) Limited at a cost of K1,299,740.21. This project, supported by CDF allocations from 2022 and 2023, is expected to enhance connectivity, enabling safer and more efficient travel across the district.
In attendance were royal Highnesses Chief Moyo and Chief Hamaundu, Pemba Town Council Chairperson Mr. Kingstone Handiindo, District Commissioner Mr. Obey Habeenzu, Council Secretary Mr. Samuel Chilombo, Honourable Councillors, heads of government departments, and other distinguished guests.
The main ceremony was held at Pemba Bus Station, bringing together local leaders and community members to celebrate the advancements in Pemba’s development journey.
